Health Education

What is Health Education?

We know how difficult it can be for people to consistently work toward eating healthier, exercising regularly, reducing stress, and working diligently toward reaching their potential.  Health Education helps people respond positively to the challenges of their environment and their body.  All workshops, courses and programs that we offer cover our five consulting elements:

Health Education is designed for individuals and groups with the intent to promote knowledge, health-enhancing skills, positive attitudes and life values.   It is designed to improve, change, maintain, reverse or restore health for individuals and communities.  Programs include education, skill-building activities, role playing and hands-on learning.  These are usually very visible and tangible.

The goal is always to help individuals adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles and influence positive behaviors for successful outcomes.  Adopting a healthy lifestyle should be self-initiated, with the commitment and intention of maintaining it for life.

Health Education Specialist (HES)

An HES is an individual who has been trained to teach in a variety of settings.  He/she is able to use learned skills and knowledge to offer programs and interventions that promote healthy lifestyle options for individuals, groups and communities.

Our job is to help modify and adjust behaviors and attitudes around what is healthy and what is not.  Programs are developed and implemented to create change by introducing the steps needed to make better choices for themselves..  Programs include options, assessments, goal setting, intervention development and implementation, and evaluation.

How can an HES help you, your company or your program?

It is important for us to positively influence the health behavior of individuals and communities as well as the living and working conditions that influence health.  We do this by engaging individuals in activities and challenges that inspires improvement in health one degree at a time.

We do this by:

  • improving the health status of individuals, families and communities.
  • lessening overall fatigue, absenteeism and mistakes in the workplace.
  • improving attitudes and awareness of self and environment.
  • eliminating toxic exposure from foods and environment.
  • enhancing the quality of life for all people.
  • focusing on prevention instead of disease-care.
  • reducing the costs (both financial and human) that individuals, employers, families, insurance companies, medical facilities, communities, the state and the nation would spend on medical treatment.

If you are considering a different approach to health for yourself, your family or your company/organization, please contact us.  We will be happy to provide you with a proposal and quote.
